The workshops were organized to consult with sub-national administrations, relevant provincial departments, indigenous communities and community-based natural resources on the community’s enjoyment of natural resources, customary tenure and the roles and responsibilities of communities, local authorities and stakeholders at the grassroots level for sustainable natural resources.
The three regional province workshops were attended by representatives from the Ministry of Environment and the Forestry Administration on the draft law on forestry and protected areas, as well as three additional presentations from representatives of civil society organizations and key researchers on past significance related to biodiversity conservation.
The three regional province workshops were attended by 15 provincial administrations, provincial departments, and local authorities a total of 117 participants, 70 representatives of civil society organizations, as well as 9 representatives of indigenous organizations, 117 community representatives, including 53 indigenous peoples.
