Phnom Penh, on 14 June 2016: Representative of the NGOForum, Mr. Tek Vanara, Executive Director and the budget working group members namely Mrs, Kim Natachia-CRRT, Mrs. Sawada Chan Krisna-Oxfam, Ms. Chhim Ratana and Mr. Pen Raksa-TIC, and Mr. Teng Samath-GADC participated the parliamentary workshop on “Understanding of Macroeconomic Framework and Public Financial Policy for preparation of the Draft Law on National Budget Management 2017” held by the secretariat General of the National Assembly of Cambodia.
The workshop is presided over by Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly. There are a wide range of participant in this workshop including Members of Parliament, Senators, Government Representatives, Development Partners and other related national and internal organization. This workshop provides information on draft law on National budget management 2017 and resilience of the macro-economic and finance in Cambodia presented by the MEF and World Bank representatives respectively. During this workshop the NGOF and BWG has distributed our publications to all the participants including the recent research finding of the Public Financial management mechanism and NGO engagement, Health budget analysis and updated guide to the National Budget. These reports intended to convey the finding issues and the recommendation to all the participants especially the policy makers. In addition, the distribution of our publication aims to increase the public awareness on the national budget and finding result.
