On April 24, 2024 at 2:00 pm, the NGO Forum on Cambodia (NGOF), a national, sub-national and local member-based organization, along with representatives of other civil society organizations including Action for Development (AFD), Save the Children, and Action Aid Cambodia held a courtesy meeting with HE Dr. Eang Sophalleth, Minister of the Ministry of Environment.
The purpose of the meeting was to learn and talk about the Ministry of Environment’s Circular Strategy, and Plan, and to seek opportunities for collaboration from civil society organizations.
Executive Director of the NGO Forum (NGOF), Mr. Soeung Saroeun, congratulated the Ministry on its achievements In particular, the campaign to reduce the use of plastic bags “Today I do not use plastic bags” with the support of more than 8million people. He also highlighted the past work with members and network, particularly on advocacy, dialogue and input of civil society in policies, plans, strategies, and activities in the environmental sector.
A significant result of the discussion, HE Dr. supported and encouraged civil society organizations to work as partners in implementing the Ministry of Environment’s Circular Strategy and plans.
