Land Security Project

The Land Security Project facilitates NGOs advocating for improved land tenure security and better land dispute resolution mechanisms, to benefit the poor and vulnerable. The project:
  • encourages engagement of NGOs, affected communities, development partners and the government in policy consultation and dialogue
  • Coordinates local and international NGOs working on land and housing to be organized and strengthened.
  • brings the concerns of affected communities and the need for better land allocation, registration and disputes resolution processes to the attention of decision makers

REDD + POLICY MONITORING PROJECT

REDD+ (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and forest Degradation) is a worldwide initiative that aims to reduce the emissions of greenhouses gases from logging. It also promotes sustainable forest management, conservation and enhancement of forest carbon stocks. Several REDD+ projects have been launched in Cambodia. These have provided an important start to the programme, although some negative impacts have also occurred in regard to the livelihoods of indigenous and forest-dependent people. Agricultural Policies Monitoring Project

This project
  • facilitates cooperation between NGOs/CSOs to influence agricultural policies and practices to encourage best practice for climate change adaptation on agriculture and food security to benefit farmers, especially those that are poor and vulnerable
  • boosts awareness among the Cambodian general public and network members on climate change impacts on agriculture and the need for adaptation and to ensure food security.

Community Rights on Hydropower Development

This project supports cooperating NGOs/CSOs:
  • to influence government policies and practices on existing and future hydropower dam projects
  • to encourage the implementation of ecologically sound, participatory, gender and climate change-responsive measures for dam-affected communities, including advocating for fair compensation and benefit.

Climate Change Policy Monitoring Project

This project brings together local and international NGOs, government agencies, researchers, environmentalists, educators and students. It promotes awareness of climate change impacts and adaptation strategies. It also strengthens the capacity and skills of NGOs to effectively advocate for best practice adaptations to be used to benefit poor and vulnerable communities. The project works through the NGO Environment and Climate Change Alliance (NECA). It shares and discusses environmental issues arising from development that may affect the environment and community livelihoods and rights.
