Pre-Consultative Workshop on Changing Aid Landscape

Phnom Penh, January 27, 2015: the NGO Forum on Cambodia (NGOF) in association with Transparency International Cambodia (TIC), with financial support from Asia Foundation, conducted a pre-consultative workshop on Changing Aid Landscape. 28 participants from 18 NGOs attended, the workshop that was held at TIC.

The main objective of this event was to discuss the aid landscape in Cambodia and collect inputs from NGOs members for the upcoming official workshop which will be held on 5 February, 2015 at Cambodia-Japan Cooperation Center (CJCC).

H.E. Mr. Chou Heng, Director of Policy Department of the Cambodian Rehabilitation and Development Board of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CRDB/CDC) was invited to deliver the presentation on Development Cooperation Trends and Future Directions including Institutional Arrangements and Development Cooperation Management Mechanisms. Afterward, the attendees were divided into three groups to discuss various topics including:

  1. The benefits and challenges of different types of donors/partners to Cambodia’s prosperity, social and economic development
  2. The challenges of managing diverse investments, coordination, oversight, monitoring and complaint handling, and
  3. The implications for CSOs

“We received a lot of significant feedback from the group discussions today. These results, will be consolidated by NGOF and brought for the presentation during the consultative workshop on “The Changing Aid Landscape: Opportunities and Challenges for Cambodia” that will happen on February 5, 201 at CJCC,” stated Mr. Heng Pheakdey, NGOF’s Deputy Executive Director, in the event.
