This national learning workshop co-organised by the NGO Forum on Cambodia and its NECA members; Action on Poverty (AOP) and Cambodian Organization for Children and Development (COCD).

The field monitoring case of Lower Sesan 2 were on the company on the closing gates for testing operation first turbine at Stueng Treng Province. Based on the announcement of administrative governor of Stueng Treng Province announced on 20 June 2017, the first turbine of Lower Sesan 2 Dam will operate on 15 July 2017, and there will flood to Srekor and Kbal Romeas Village. The field monitoring aim to reach targets area: dam, water, the gate, the generator, cannel, and water flooding surrounding and any construction develop by the company. Another main objective take concerned over the flooding on Srekor and Kbal Romeas Villege which affected by the dam, as well as the new relocation site on how it well prepared for safety place which include the properties, the children, elder people, animal, foods…etc.

A partner from Cambodia of Asia Climate Change Consortium (ACCC); the NGO Forum on Cambodia together CSO partners from part of Asia gathered at Nouvo City Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand for discussing to limit temperature increase to 1.5C: Ratification of the Kigali Amendment the Montreal Protocol and Pathways to 1.5c". This ACCC partners meeting was conducted on July 7-9, 2017 and immediately be followed to Workshop on Safety Standards Relevant to the Safe Use of Low Global Warming Potential (GWP) Alternatives to Hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) and 39th Meeting of the Open-ended Working Group (OEWG 39) of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer conducting on 10-14 July 2017 at UN Conference Centre (UNCC), Bangkok, Thailand

Strengthen Capacity of NDF-C Members and Farmer Representatives on Citi2

On 4th -5th July 2017 the training on Citizen Journalist Writing Skill and Strategic Communication Planning for Policy Influencing was conducted at The NGO Forum on Cambodia Office in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The course was coordinated by The NGO Forum on Cambodia which funding supported by Right to Food project of Oxfam. There were total 44 participants (19 females) from Network for Development of Food Security and Safety in Cambodia (NDF-C) of The NGO Forum on Cambodia and farmer representatives came from Kratie, Kampong Speu, Pursat, Battambang, Siem Reap, Bantey Meanchey, Takeo, Kampong Thom, Prey Veng, Svay Rieng, Kampot, Kampong Cham, Kampong Chhnang, and Phnom Penh joined the training on “Citizen Journalist Writing Skill and Strategic Communication Planning for Policy Influencing”. The aims of the training workshop were (I) To strengthen capacity of NDF-C members and farmer representatives on media writing skills for effective communication and Program Report (PR) to influence law enforcement and policy change (II) To raise basic knowledge on how to effectively and consistently communicate environmental issues to right audience at right time, and (III) To support the development of Effective Communications Plan for environmental advocacy campaign and policy influencing.

The 4 Dialogue Meeting between NGO Forum and Media on Budget Transparency in Cambodia

Media has played important role to ensure government provides quality of public services for citizens. On 15 June 2017, meeting organized for increase media persons understanding on the budget transparency that has been implemented by the NGO Forum on Cambodia. In addition, the meeting also would like to collect the feedback from all participants regarding to cooperation with the NGO Forum on Cambodia. What areas should The NGO Forum on Cambodia improved to ensure message/ text on budget transparency, public financial reform, national strategic plan are interested and reported by all medias such as TV, radio, newspaper…etc. In addition, the objective of the meeting is also would like to seek comments on areas /topics that media are interested in, thus the NGO Forum on Cambodia can improved her performance to be more effective in working with media.

Forum on Roles of Youth in Budgetary Process 1

On 15 June 2017, the National Budget Project (NBP) of the NGO Forum on Cambodia (NGOF), with Budget Working Group (BWG) to organize Forum on ”Roles of Youth in Budgetary Process”. There are over 200 participants to join this forum at Tonle Basac 2 restuarant. The forum aim to increase knowledge and understanding of young people on budget process and budget transparency, as well as budget formulation process at national level. Furthermore, to encourage youth participation for contribution in budgeting process youth space in budgetary process where and how youth involve in budgeting process.
